Fulacht Fiadh Café and Manorhamilton Castle are delighted to present the ‘Manorhamilton Castle Heritage and Folk Festival’ from 20-22 May.
Taking place at Manorhamilton Castle, Fulacht Fiadh Café and surrounding gardens from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd May, a weekend full of music, workshops and performances will see some of the best traditional, folk and experimental artists and historians of Leitrim highlight the cultural richness of Leitrim. heritage.
The festival will include performances and workshops by Edwina Guckian, winner of this year’s Gradam Ceoil Outstanding Contribution Award, multi-instrumentalist Martin Brunsden and vocalist Branwen Kavanagh, experimental performers Tara Boath Mooney and Diarmuid MacDiarmuida and many more. others.

There is a thriving traditional music and dance scene in Leitrim and we hope to highlight this with our festival. The festival will also highlight the folk heritage of Leitrim with a workshop on the tradition of the mummies where participants can make straw hats and have the chance to perform at the evening concert with the mummies of Leitrim.
There will be a lecture on the history of Manorhamilton Castle and tours of the castle as well as talks with prominent Leitrim singers and musicians as part of the ‘Jenny Put The Kettle On’ sessions taking place on Friday and Sunday.
The Sunday will include an Irish-language musical tour of Manorhamilton and a concert and Pop-Up Gaeltacht hosted by the Spolar Theater group and will conclude with a singing session hosted by Gradam Ceoil Prize winner Rosie Stewart with special guest vocalist from Leitrim Fionnuala Maxwell.
