Jalandhar: A folk song contest was organized by the Amrita Pritam Sahit Sabha of the Punjabi Department of the PCM SD College for Women. In this competition, students from different streams participated with enthusiasm. The judges for the competition were Anu Bala, Department of Music, and Dr. Surinder Kaur and Akwinder Kaur from the Department of Punjabi. Navroop Kaur from B.Com Semester VI got the first place, Ramandeep Kaur and Harsharan Kaur from BA Semester IV second and Darshan Kaur from BA Semester II got the third position. Members of the steering committee and worthy director Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners. She also commended the efforts of the Department of Punjabi in organizing such events for the overall development of students.

College Top Hats

The 3rd and 5th semester undergraduate students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts did their university proud by achieving high marks in the Guru Nanak Dev University exams. Madhvi Bawra (Semester 3) scored 380 of 400 (95pc) and Jasleen Kaur Bhogal (BA Semester 5) scored 372 of 400 (93pc). Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra praised the students and appreciated Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Raman Dhadra for their effective teaching methodology which led to amazing results.

Poetic prayers

The Arts and Culture Division of Lovely Professional University organized a “Kavi Sammelan” – Kavita ke Rang, Baisakhi kei Sang” day to celebrate Baisakhi. The verses mainly emphasized the need for universal brotherhood, peace, humanity, togetherness and mutual understanding. Five eminent poets from various parts of the country shared the poetic stage together with their unique talent. The poetic scene has been graced by world famous poets – Dr Shyam Vashishtha (Writer and Poet), Vibhor Chaudhary (Comedian and TV Artist), Sudeep Bhola (International Poet), Varun Anand (International Gazal Singer) and Dheerendra Singh ( national poet and debater). National Safety Week

Eklavya School celebrates National Safety Week to educate students about their safety. It is a weak point to raise awareness and commitment to the safety protocols that must be followed to prevent accidents and accidents in the workplace. Shiv Jyoti School Foundation Day

The 35th founding day celebration of Shiv Jyoti Public School was held with havan yajna and an award distribution function. The program started with Jyoti Prajawalan and Saraswati Vandana. Class XII students Chesta and Siddhi Sharma rekindled their memories of the previous year with a special mention of their classroom experiences. In his speech, Diya Sharma of Class XII expressed deep gratitude to all the teachers, principals and administrative teachers on behalf of the students of Class 12 from their first day till Class 12. Baisakhi celebrated

Dps, Jalandhar, celebrated Baisakhi with the participation of primary grades 1 to 5 with great enthusiasm and festivity. The participants were dressed in traditional Punjabi clothing. The whole atmosphere resounded with a rhythmic music that was absolutely bewitching. The students performed traditional bhangra and giddha on stage, the atmosphere was so energetic. DPS School Coordinator Ramandeep Kaur addressed the children adding to the importance of instilling empathy in them to nurture the well-being of society with empathy and unity.

Ambedkar Jayanti celebrated

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti with great zeal and enthusiasm to commemorate Dr BR Ambedkar’s 131st birthday. The celebrations were jointly organized by the Department of Student Welfare, the PG Department of English, and the PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The celebrations were organized in order to spread Dr BR Ambedkar’s ideology of social equality among the students. On this occasion, various activities such as seminar, quiz contest and declamation were organized for the students.
