The event, which takes place at the West Midland Showground in Berwick Road, will see them join folk legend Judy Collins, bagpiper Carlos Núñez and all-female string band Della Mae.

The latest acts to be revealed include Scottish sensations Skerryvore, George Hinchliffe’s Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and The Unthanks as well as Oysterband’s John Jones and special guests performing his Rising Road show.

Police Dog Hogan debuts at the festival with the Sam Sweeney Band, the Julie July Band will present The Sandy Denny Experience, there’s Fire & Dust: The Woody Guthrie Story in a Song by Reg Meuross and solo performances by Miranda Sykes, Reg Meuross and Dan Walsh.

Artists also already announced include Show of Hands, Black Umfolosi, Moonlight Benjamin, Stephen Fearing and The Sentimentals, The Roaring Trowmen with Colin Linden and Tom Wilson.

Director Sandra Surtees said: “As always, we combine the best of British folk with a fantastic roster of international artists to deliver an eclectic lineup that covers everything from traditional music to folk rock, bluegrass, l americana and world music.

“And we haven’t revealed any big names yet, so it’s shaping up to be a really good festival.

“Mix it all up with an extensive dance program including indoor and outdoor ceilidhs, children’s and youth festivals, workshops and singing and you’ll never be bored.”

The festival retains an outdoor stage after its introduction last year and there will be two covered music stages and the outdoor ‘village stage’.

The Festival Dance Tent will return, providing a covered venue for ceilidhs, dance performances, workshops and exhibits.

There’s also on-site camping and glamping, a foodie village and festival shop, craft fair and real ale, wine and cocktail bars.
