Old Songs Folk Festival 2022 Returns In Person

The 42nd Annual 3-Day Edition Old Songs Folk Festival of Traditional Music and Dance will take place IN PERSON on June 24, 25 and 26 at Altamont fairgroundRt. 146, Altamont, NY.

Music with Roots! Old Songs celebrates folk, Celtic, Quebec, roots, American and world music; from Ireland, Scotland, England, Quebec, Italy, India, Midwest, Appalachia, New England and more. Listen to traditional, fusion and new music from contemporary musicians, singers and songwriters.

Sing, dance, jam and listen at this highly participatory event for the whole family. Old Songs encourages audience members to join jam sessions, take part in learning sessions, sing the sacred harp, kick their feet to their big dance bands, or take a class on Friday after- midday. School-age children who play an instrument can take part in the “Great Groove Band” during the festival with the help of musical coaches and musical instruction, as well as take part in their Sunday performance.

There are three concerts on the main stage, each featuring multiple artists on Friday and Saturday from 6:30-11:00 p.m., and Sunday from 3:30-7:00 p.m. in the leafy main stage area and in outdoors (rain site also provided). During the day on Saturday and Sunday, there are over 100 shows, dances, interactive workshops and jams in ten zones around the grounds. A large craft area and various food concessions are also available.
