Ludhiana: Sacred Heart of Jesus School, DX-1, South City, Ludhiana, held an inter-school folk song contest for grades VI-VII under the banner of the Sahodaya School Complex. The competition began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. In the welcome speech, Principal Kirti Sharma talked about the importance of music in life. Talented participants from 30 schools took part in the event. The competition was judged by renowned playback singer Nazima Maqbool, along with Rajinder Malhaar and Charanjit Kaur, based on melody, entertainment and overall presentation. The winners of the competition received certificates and trophies from the school management, principal and judges.
Smart India Hackathon-2022
Aryan Easht Modi, a class XI student from BCM School, Ludhiana, made his mark among the 250 finalists across the country with his AI-based project in Smart India Hackathon-2022. Smart India Hackathon-2022 is a nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Education, aimed at providing students with a platform to address some of the pressing issues we face in our daily lives, and thereby inculcate a culture of product innovation and a problem-solving mindset. Easht completed an AI-based project in the “Fitness and Sports” category, which earned him the title of “winner” and a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
Students bring laurels
Students from Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Road, Ludhiana have won more than 12 events organized by the Falahi Sahib Gurudwara. No less than 18 schools took part in various events. In the Gurbani Kanth contest, Janamjit Singh from class IV got the second position, Manjot Singh from class VIII, Karamjit Kaur and Mantripti from class received the third prize. In the dastar competition, Amanpreet Singh of class V and Prabhdeep Singh of class XI got the first place while Ekamjot Singh of class V got the third prize. In the sports category, in the 100 meters, Jasnoor Singh from class X, Brajesh Kumar and Bablu Kumar from class IX took the first, second and third positions respectively. In the painting competition, Radhwinder Singh of class VIII got the first position while Khushmeet Kaur of class XII received the consolation prize. The school’s gatka team took second place in the Sikh Martial Arts category.
Sam Paul Mittal organizes Innovation Fest
The Satyan Innovation Fest (SIF), 2022, was held at Sat Paul Mittal School. The three-day festival ended on August 20 at Auditorium Mittal, Sat Paul Mittal School. In the start-up challenge, Sacred Heart Convent School, Chandigarh Road won the best team award while DAV Public School got the first prize, while the second prize went to KVM School. The People’s Choice Award was presented by the DCM Presidency School. In the gamification challenge, the best team award was won by DRV DAV Centenary Public School. The school of the DCM presidency received the trophy for the best school.
