Surtal’s cultural and social welfare club, Raikot, received the award for best performance in an international folk dance competition that recently ended in Bulgaria and Thailand.

The event was organized by the European Festival Concert Youth League led by Arif Sonmez, Natalia Zyatyk and Igor Netluh. The artists of the Surtaj Club, led by its president Pawan Kumar, had presented their talent at various events organized in Bulgaria and Thailand during the international cultural fair.

The bhangra team, consisting of both men and women, was declared the overall champion and also received the best performance award.

Naampreet Gogi, an official of the organization, said that a mixed bhangra team prepared under the leadership of President Coach Pawan Kumar Sharma took part in a 10-day international cultural event in which artists from 24 countries took part. . Performances by Varun Sharma, Lakhwinder Meet, Rajvir Singh, Simranjit Singh and Hardeep Singh were enjoyed by all.

The winning team was congratulated during the farewell session by the organizers in Thailand.
