Regina Folk Festival Winterrupt is back in 2022 to break the ice of the frigid prairie winter with a fiery concert series from January 26-29 – featuring performances by DijahSB, TEKE::TEKE, the Sadies, the Garrys, Julian Taylor, the North Sound, People of the Sun and Snake River.

While the festival’s live shows run from January 26-29, the event kicks off on January 22 with an outdoor skating party at City Square Ice Rink. Free winter time get together will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. — with skating, hot chocolate and a playlist full of winter favourites.

WInterrupt’s 2022 lineup also includes online artist talks. These interviews and conversations with this year’s featured musicians are hosted via Zoom and are also free for everyone.

“It’s been a tough two pandemic years and January can get a little dark, so we thought it was important to get the joy of live music back through our veins,” artistic director Amber Goodwyn said in a statement. “We’re encouraging people to get vaccinated and come catch these super cool artists!”

The concerts will be split between two local venues: the artesian and the exchange. Tickets for performances range from $20 to $30 each and are available for purchase here.
