Ukrainian folk festival celebrates independence and benefits war victims



The 2022 Ukrainian Folk Festival will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday August 28 at the Ukrainian American Sports Center – Tryzub (, County Line and Lower State Roads, Horsham.

Exciting, spectacular, dazzling, breathtaking, exhilarating, fiery, moving, enchanting, captivating and intriguing – modest words that describe but in no way capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music and dance.

From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate “pysanka” (Ukrainian Easter egg) to the thunder, power, rhythm and force of “HOPAK” – the most exciting ethnic dance in the world, and every brilliant “Kolomiyka” (polka) and moving folk song in between, experience the 2022 Ukrainian folk festival, celebrating the 31st anniversary of the independence of the ancestral homeland.

Enjoy a summer outdoor concert and show (1:30-4:30 p.m.), live orchestral music (5-8 p.m.), traditional Ukrainian foods and pastries , barbecue, standard picnic, grove of vendors, Ukrainian arts and crafts exhibits and bazaar, cool refreshments, live re-enactments of Ukrainian history and Ukrainian hospitality .

The event is open to the public and admission is $15, with $5 from each paid entry donated to humanitarian relief for war victims in Ukraine. Children under 15 are admitted free; parking is free.
